We always recommend purchasing our Advanced Aftercare Solution, so you can easily take care of your piercing at home. The solution is designed to be the perfect treatment for healing piercings (among other things!).

What is Advanced Aftercare Solution?

Hypochloric acid is the primary ingredient in our Advanced Aftercare Solution. Made from sodium hypochlorite and phosphoric acid, the antibacterial, pH-neutral solution is safe for all skin types (even the most sensitive skin!). How do we know? According to The Cleveland Clinic (2024), Hypochlorus Acid has antimicrobial properties, speeds wound healing, and reduces inflammation. It’s also naturally produced by our white blood cells and plays a critical role in wound healing and combatting infections. 

Why should I use Advanced Aftercare Solution?

Because ear piercing is an aesthetic choice, many people fail to consider ear piercing as a medical procedure. But at its core, that’s what it is! After introducing a piercing to the ear, keeping it free from infection and irritation is the key to a comfortable and healthy healing process - the same as if you’d just gotten surgery or stitches.

How do I use Advanced Aftercare Solution?

To use your Advanced Aftercare Solution on new piercings, simply spray the front and back of the piercing with 1-2 spritzes in the morning and evening.

If you participate in sports or are an avid gym-goer, be sure to spray your piercing after you work out. In warmer weather, it’s important to spray your piercing after a swim as well. You will also want to clean your piercings with the spray after showering, using hair products, and applying sunscreen. 

What else can I use Advanced Aftercare Solution for?

Thanks to hypochlorous acid spray’s antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties, it can be used to help clear up breakouts of acne or eczema.* Small cuts can also benefit from cleansing with hypochlorous acid. In a pinch, it can also be used to sanitize hands (Block & Rowan, 2020)!

How else can I promote healing for my piercing?

In addition to using Advanced Aftercare Solution, it’s important to avoid sleeping on a new piercing. If you can’t avoid sleeping on your side, a piercing pillow will allow you to rest comfortably without disturbing your new piercing. You also want to keep the skin around your piercing clean and dry (other than when showering or cleaning your piercing), so it’s important to not sleep with wet hair.

Friction around your piercing can create bumps; be careful when putting on or taking off shirts, scarves, hats, etc. Any of these items could easily snag and pull on your earring, resulting in discomfort and, potentially, a piercing bump.
